Friday, May 8, 2020 – A prominent city pastor has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the man behind the ongoing demolitions in Kariobangi North and Korogocho Market in Nairobi.
On Monday, the Government through the Ministry of Water and Sanitation evicted over 7,000 families from Kiambia Slum in Kariobangi North claiming that the land belongs to Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company.
On Friday morning, part of Korogocho Market was demolished by the same Ministry claiming also that the land belongs to NWSC.
But in a social media post on Friday, Kayole based Pastor, Godfrey Migwi, said the demolitions that happened at Kariobangi North are in preparation for an ultra-modern city being constructed by ‘the big family’.
“I know the big family is targeting Muranga water and Kariobangi Sewage disposal for an ambitious forthcoming Ultra-Modern City project.”
“But why evict poor people suffering from lack of money, acute food shortage, rains and floods then battling with Coronavirus?” Migwi said.
“This is not the best time to evict anyone, let us fight Coronavirus first.”
“You cannot tell people to stay at home then you demolish houses for poor people,” Migwi added.
Pastor Migwi is a die-hard supporter of Deputy President William Ruto.
