Tuesday, May 5, 2020 – Cases of domestic violence are on the rise during this quarantine period with women the most affected.
For instance, a 25-year old man from Kungutu on the outskirts of Isiolo town beheaded his wife following a domestic row on Sunday night.
The monster husband, who has been identified as David Karingori is reported to have decapitated his wife with a machete at around 11 pm, then surrendered to Kulamawe Police Post while carrying his two-year-old son.
The man had always been violent towards his wife according to neighbors.
“We were used to their fights and when we heard the wife scream, we did not think it had gotten this far.”
“It is so hurting that the young boy will grow without motherly love,” one of the neighbors said.
Confirming the incident, Isiolo Sub-County Police Commander, George Kariuki, said the suspect was immediately detained while his wife’s body was moved to Isiolo Referral Hospital mortuary.
The suspect will be charged with murder once investigations into what transpired before the brutal attack are complete.
