Sunday, 24 May 2020 – A man working at Kenyatta family owned media station, K24, has committed suicide.

George Kori, a journalist based in Molo, Nakuru County, committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree.

His body was found dangling from a tree after he was reported missing on Tuesday, May 19th.

According to reports, the journalist, who was battling depression due to work related stress, had turned into a drunkard.

‘He went missing on Tuesday only to be found today dangling from a tree near his family home in Elburgon.’

‘Actually, his mother had gone to report of his missing son when she heard that a body of a middle-aged man had been found somewhere. She accompanied the police only to find it was her missing son,’ a fellow journalist revealed.

Most journalists who work for Mediamax owned stations have gone for months without pay as the troubled media house faces financial challenges.

The acting Mediamax CEO, Ken Ngaruiya, is accused of mismanaging the station and mistreating staff, thus killing their morale.
