Monday, May 18, 2020 – Nominated Senator, Isaac Mwaura, has revealed the pain nominated Senators and MPs undergo in the hands of their parties that nominate them inside the Senate or National Assembly respectively.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Mwaura who was nominated to the Senate by Jubilee Party said as much as it catered for special groups, the holder of the seat is bound to show absolute loyalty to the nominating party.

Mwaura added that the expulsion process against a nominated member was much easier as compared to an elected representative.

“You are easily removed from the seat if you don’t align with the party’s agenda.”

“The party just has to order the member to produce a show-cause letter.”

“If it not satisfactory, it can expel you, and Parliament begins the process to remove you,” Mwaura said.

The Senator also revealed what he underwent when Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominated him in Parliament in 2013.
