Tuesday May 26, 2020 – President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to be a good student of Robert Greene’s book The 48 Laws of Power, going by how he is fumigating the Jubilee Party.
Over the last two months, radical surgery in the National Assembly and Senate committees has been ongoing as Uhuru tries to stamp his authority in the ruling coalition.
Uhuru has already removed Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, as Senate Majority leader and replaced him with West Pokot Senator, Samuel Poghisio.
Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika, was axed as Majority Whip and replaced by poetic Muranga Senator, Irungu Kangata.
On Friday, Tharaka Nithi Senator, Prof Kithure Kindiki, was removed as Deputy Speaker of the Senate and the party is yet to announce his successor.
Murkomen, Kihika and Kindiki were reportedly removed for abandoning the Jubilee Government‘s agenda in the Senate and engaging in premature 2022 presidential campaigns
However, on Tuesday, Uhuru appointed Murkomen and Kindiki to other senior positions in the Senate.
Murkomen was appointed as chairman of the Devolution Committee while Prof Kithure Kindiki was appointed as Chairman of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee.
