Thursday May 7, 2020 – Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has finally made good its threats of removing Narok Senator, Ledama Ole Kina, as the Chairman of Senate Public Accounts and Investment Committee popularly known as CPAIC.

On Monday, Ole Kina was elected as Chairman of the powerful committee whose main role is to supervise the Governors on how they spend County funds.

But in a letter to the Speaker of the Senate on Wednesday, ODM through Senate Minority Leader, James Orengo, withdrew the appointment of Ole Kina as CPAIC chairman saying he is not equal to the task.

“In accordance with the Senate Standing Order 190, I hereby give notice of the discharge and removal of Senator Ledama Ole Kina from the County Public Accounts and Investment Committee and the Senate Business Committee,” Orengo, who is also the Siaya Senator wrote.

Orengo is said to have the blessings of ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga, who also rejected the appointment of Ole Kina as CPAIC chairman.
