Thursday, May 28, 2020 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is over the moon after his firstborn son, Jomo Kenyatta, and his wife, Fiona Achola, welcomed a bouncing baby boy on Wednesday, May 27th, at Nairobi Hospital.
The baby, who has been reportedly named Uhuru after his grandfather, becomes the President’s second grandchild.
Jomo and Fiona welcomed their first child, a baby girl, named Wanjiru after First Lady Margaret Kenyatta in November 2017, a few months after their lavish traditional wedding ceremony at the family’s rural home in Ichaweri village in Gatundu South, Kiambu County.
The ceremony known as ‘Itara’ in the Agikuyu community was graced by who’s who in society.
President Kenyatta stole the show as he was seen getting down to a popular Kikuyu song.
Even former First Lady, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, was not left behind as she rolled back years and danced along with a huge smile on her face.
Achola Kenyatta is the granddaughter of the late Dr. William Odongo Omamo and niece to Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Raychelle Omamo.
Jomo is seen in some quarters as the heir apparent to the throne.
