Tuesday May 19, 2020 – Tanzania’s President John Pombe Magufuli has really messed up his country going by what is happening at the Kenya-Tanzania border.
On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta closed the border between Kenya and Tanzania over the spread of coronavirus.
Following the closure of the border, Isebania police had a rough time on Monday trying to stop thousands of Tanzanians who were sneaking into Kenya despite the border closure.
An estimated 35 boda boda riders were impounded during the highly coordinated operation to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to have the Kenya-Tanzania border closed completely.
Speaking to the media, residents of Isebania lauded the Government operation to nab Tanzanians, who they claimed were using various panya routes to gain entry into the country.
“I am very pleased with today’s operation.”
“I would even urge the president to send even more reinforcements to ensure the Tanzanians adhere to the new directives,” Shukri Abdi, an area resident stated.
Sources said thousands of Tanzanians are sick of coronavirus because the government ignored advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
