Sunday, May 31, 2020 – The number of confirmed Covid19 cases in Kenya has increased by 74 over the last 24 hours to stand at 1962.

Speaking during the daily briefs on Covid19, Health CAS Rashid Aman revealed that 1,574 samples had been tested over the last 24 hours with Laikipia recording its first Covid19 case.

Out of the 74 new cases, 55 patients are males while 19 are females.

The distribution of the new cases is as follows: Nairobi (35), Mombasa (23), Busia (6), Kiambu (2), Kwale (2), Kajiado (2), Uasin Gishu (2), Kilifi (1), Laikipia (1) and Taita Taveta (1)

One patient from Nairobi’s Kayole estate succumbed to Covid19, bringing the total deaths to 64.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries has risen to 474 following the discharge of 14 people from hospital.

So far, Kenya has tested 78,536 samples.
