Tuesday May 12, 2020 – Bahati MP, Kimani Ngunjiri, has issued a disturbing statement against COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli’s underhand dealings in Jubilee.
Responding to yesterday’s meeting at State House where President Uhuru Kenyatta sacked Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika as Senate Majority Leader and Whip respectively, Ngunjiri claimed that the entire agenda was to set the stage for the President’s friends to be rewarded and his detractors reprimanded.
“Francis Atwoli is positioning the Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja who is his relative as a replacement for Susan Kihika as Chief Whip.”
“An outsider is now dictating how Jubilee is to be overseen as a family affair.”
“Jubilee was a party for all and one that wouldn’t discriminate, but what is happening now is very clear that the people have been right all along.”
“It is the dynasty versus hustlers,” the MP’s statement reads in part.
Back in 2017, the COTU Secretary General asked Nairobians to elect his ‘son’ Johnson Sakaja as their next Senator.
“I am telling you Sakaja has been raised in my house together with my children.”
“He is my son.”
“Therefore my vote will be cast for him, and so will his mother.”
“And for you Nairobians, I am pleading with you to please vote for him,” he stated at the time.
Ngunjiri also berated President Uhuru for abandoning what he termed as the team that put him in power and warned his party leader over his impending fall.
“I want to remind the President that his gameplan is wrong.”
“It is mistaken based on one, the way he became the President.”
“Even if it is being Machiavellian, some of the things we have seen today, we can rightly conclude that they come from a prince who lacks the valour and foresight to protect and preserve what he acquired, but anyway, what would you expect from a prince who had an easy ride to the throne?” his statement further reads.
