Monday, May 11, 2020 – Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, has stated that he’s stronger than ever, hours after he was ousted as Majority Leader in the Senate.
“I thank all my friends for the overwhelming love and support.”
“I am stronger than ever before.”
“I will be coming back to you later with more updates. One love,” Murkomen wrote on his Twitter page.
Murkomen is among Jubilee leaders allied to DP William Ruto who have lost their lucrative posts in the Senate leadership.
Their fate was sealed during a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting that brought together Senators from Jubilee Party and the Kenya African National Union (KANU) at State House, Nairobi.
Following the meeting, Murkomen was replaced by West Pokot Senator, Samuel Poghisio (KANU) as the Senate Majority Leader and will be deputized by Isiolo’s Fatuma Dullo.
Muranga Senator, Irungu Kang’ata (JP), is the new Majority Whip replacing Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika.
Murkomen has termed the move to replace him as null and void and vowed to challenge the decision in court.
