Monday, May 11, 2020 – Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has said that he is ready to make a post-election pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of 2022 presidential elections.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday morning, Kalonzo said that he is ready to make a pact with Jubilee Party, KANU and other like-minded parties to improve democracy in the country.
“Wiper will be ready to enter into a cooperation agreement with both KANU and Jubilee when that time comes.”
“We are open to that,” Kalonzo said.
“Wiper had our National Executive Council meeting virtually and we agreed that we need to open negotiations and be able to move in that direction,” Kalonzo added.
Mr Musyoka’s Wiper Party is in a coalition agreement with Mr Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) and Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford-Kenya, under the umbrella National Super Alliance (NASA).
On Wednesday last week, Uhuru signed a pact with KANU chairman, Gideon Moi, to strengthen Jubilee Party in the Senate and in the National Assembly.
