Friday May 15, 2020 – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga held a meeting yesterday on the latest developments on Covid19.
The meeting was held between ODM’s top leadership and parliamentary leadership in both the Senate and National Assembly.
The meeting was an informal one chaired by Raila Odinga to review and upraise the latest developments in light of the Covid19 Pandemic.
ODM members present in the meeting pledged their support towards the Government’s efforts in mitigation of the deadly virus and speedy return to normalcy.
The party meeting also touched on measures which must be put in place to cushion the most vulnerable in society during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The meeting urged the Government to pay special attention to the situation of the porous borderline with Tanzania which has become a major concern.
With healthcare workers issuing a strike notice on May 18th, the meeting discussed the evolving situation with healthcare workers who have threatened to go on strike so that we do not exacerbate an already bad situation.
Present in the meeting was Edwin Sifuna, John Mbadi, Junet Mohamed and James Orengo among other members.
