Friday, May 8, 2020 – The Ministry of Health has today announced 14 new Coronavirus cases putting the national tally at 621.
Health CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman, said that out of all the new cases, 10 are from Nairobi County, 3 from Mombasa County and 1 from Machakos County.
Of the 10 Nairobi cases, 4 are from Kasarani Estate, 2 from Makadara, 1 from Umoja, 1 from South C, 1 from Dagoretti South and one from a quarantine facility.
Kasarani Estate has now 11 cases in total and the Government is contemplating putting more restrictions in the area to stop the spread of the deadly bug.
Rashid also announced that there are five more discharges, raising the total to 202.
The CAS urged Kenyans to keep following guidelines given by the Government to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
“We appreciate that these measures create a great deal of inconveniences to everyone… a time comes when everyone has to make sacrifices,” he said.
Aman also warned Kenyans using panya routes to beat movement restrictions.
