Sunday May 24, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto donated hundreds of goats to the Muslim community yesterday as the holy month of Ramadhan comes to an end.
Taking to social media, Ruto said that the gifts will be distributed to vulnerable families amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
He thanked Muslims for praying for Kenyans as the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the country.
“On this last day in this year’s holy month of Ramadan, we salute the remarkable spiritual sacrifice our Muslim brothers and sisters have made by praying for Kenya as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“May Allah open the doors of blessings and joy to you and the country as the marking of Eid al-Fitr approaches,” he posted.
On Wednesday, Ruto had donated food to over 600 vulnerable families in Nachu Ward, Kiambu County, to cushion them from hard economic times caused by the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic.
“We are committed to ensuring that vulnerable Kenyans are supported during this tough period of the COVID-19 crisis besides coming up with broad plans that will facilitate the country’s rapid recovery from the disease,” the DP said in a statement.
