Wednesday May 6,2020 – Nandi Hills MP, Alfred Keter, has once against lashed out at Deputy President William Ruto for ignoring his advice when he dissolved the United Republican Party and joined Jubilee Alliance in 2017.
Speaking on Wednesday, Keter said that he had warned Ruto against dissolving the party and joining Jubilee Alliance which is led by Mt Kenya mafia.
Keter who spoke in an interview with Kass FM, observed that betrayals taking place in Government could have been avoided had Ruto been keen to listen to advice he got.
“I advised him against folding the then United Republican Party which was a good political vehicle for our community even though we were joining Jubilee but he did not listen.”
“In turn he argued that the president is his friend and that he will not betray him,”he said.
Keter who is no longer in good books with Ruto, said that they last spoke in 2018 when he advised him to address certain issues touching on the Kalenjin community.
“I last spoke with him in 2018 and I was categorical on the well-being of our community.”
“My concern was for him to strengthen key institutions in the region such as universities, welfare of farmers and also to defend the interests of our people who were then holding crucial positions in Government,” he said.
