Tuesday, May 12, 2020 – Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver to Kenyans after he was ousted as the Senate Majority Leader.
Murkomen was removed as Majority Leader on Monday and his place taken by West Pokot Senator, Samuel Poghisio, a KANU diehard.
Murkomen’s removal had the blessings of President Uhuru Kenyatta who called Senators to State House, Nairobi, and ordered them to remove Murkomen as the Majority Leader.
In a heated discussion at the Senate on Tuesday, Murkomen took the chance to take a swipe at the President who chaired the State House meeting that led to his ouster, accusing him of not being truthful to the House.
“I want to tell the president to stop lying to the Senate.”
“You said you will give Senate Oversight Fund. Give them.”
“If Murkomen was the problem, he is now not there. Sign all the bills!” Murkomen said.
