Sunday, May 24, 2020 – Veteran city preacher and politician, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, is out of danger after spending the last few days in the Intensive Care Unit, after testing positive for novel coronavirus.
Kenya Film Classification Board CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, shared the good news but revealed that Bishop Wanjiru is still in hospital.
Taking to twitter, Dr. Mutua wrote:
“GOOD NEWS: Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is out of ICU.
“Still hospitalized but doing quite well now.
“She’s able to talk and has called a number of people to express her gratitude.
“We give God the glory and wish her quick and full recovery,”
This comes after Dr. Mutua castigated NTV over how they reported Bishop Wanjiru’s illness.
“#IStandWithBishopWanjiru “Positive after prayer” is an insensitive and callous headline that should not have been used on someone fighting for her life in the hospital.
“The media should report the facts without being cynical.
“This is unprofessional. Get well soon Bishop!” Mutua tweeted.
According to sources, the former Starehe MP and founder of the Jesus is Alive Ministries, ignored the Government’s directive on social gatherings and hosted 18 people at her house before she fell ill.
Eight of those 18 people that Bishop Wanjiru hosted also tested positive.
