Sunday May 31, 2020 – Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has defended his frequent meetings with political leaders from various parties.
Speaking yesterday, Mudavadi explained that his meetings were geared towards forming a roadmap to the 2022 General Elections.
“I have to craft my own path, everybody in politics will be crafting their own path.”
“The question is to what extent can you generate synergies with other people as you go along in crafting that.”
“The end game on that particular process will come when people are casting their own votes in 2022.”
“That will come, whether we like it or not, it is a futuristic position, two years away and we will get there,” explained Mudavadi.
He noted that he did not mind if people read politics into his meetings and vowed to continue consulting across the political divide.
Mudavadi was puzzled on why people were speculating about his meetings noting that he had the choice to meet whoever he pleased.
“The question I should ask, who has a problem with whom I’m meeting, why should it bother them, why should it worry them?”
“Is there a script that has been out somewhere that Musalia should only meet specific people?” wondered Mudavadi.
Mudavadi, on Friday, May 29th, met with Narc Kenya party leader, Martha Karua, former Presidential candidate, Peter Kenneth, and former Head of Public Service Ambassador Sally Kosgei.
