Thursday May 21, 2020 – Anthony Waswa, the brother to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Westlands MP, Tim Wanyonyi, was laid to rest yesterday in a ceremony attended by only 60 people.

In the eulogy, Wanyonyi detailed the last moments of the 48 year old who died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, where he had been admitted for a week.

The Westlands MP highlighted that he and his brother distributed food and sanitisers to vulnerable families on May 9th, 2020, before they departed and agreed to meet up the following day.

The two brothers, however, did not meet up during the day as agreed because Waswa was not feeling well.

“I reached him on phone and he told me he was not feeling well.”

“We agreed to meet later in the evening.”

“On May 11, I talked to him in the morning and he said that he had been admitted at Ngara Medical Centre.”

“When his condition worsened, I took him to Aga khan for specialised treatment,” he detailed.

A week later, on Friday, May 15th, Wanyonyi’s sister informed him that Waswa had passed on.

“When my brother got into an accident, the late Waswa left the hotel business he was running and told me he would go take care of him.”

“He has been his PA, security and everything,” Senator Wetangula eulogised.

The Bungoma Senator urged residents to take Covid19 regulations issued by the Government seriously.
