Thursday May 14, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto mesmerised Kenyans on Wednesday when he posted a tweet that appeared to fire a political salvo at his detractors.
From Monday this week, President Uhuru Kenyatta and cartels led by former Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, David Murathe, have been making party changes without consulting the National Executive Committee and the party‘s National Governing Council.
Without any political innuendos, the DP caught the two off-guard after they axed Elgeyo Markwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, as Majority leader and Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika, as Majority Whip.
Following this development, many expected the country’s second in command to rattle his enemies, but the hustler from Sugoi played top-flight political combat by only saying that the country is battling the coronavirus pandemic, destructive floods and a locust invasion.
By not directly reminding his enemies that they were focusing on non-priority areas – fixing him – he reminded all to individually and collectively step out to support ravaged Kenyans.
“Good people, we are in the middle of corona pandemic, destructive floods & ravaging locust invasion.”
“Many who have lost work, income & livelihood are desperate and hungry.”
“Let’s us reach out with food and all kind of support individually where we are able and collectively as GoK,” Ruto said.
