Wednesday May 13, 2020 – Former Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, David Murathe, has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for fumigating the Jubilee Party and removing Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen as the Majority Leader in the Senate and Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika, as the Majority Whip.
In an interview with a local TV station, Murathe who is also the former Gatanga MP, said Uhuru who is the Jubilee Party leader acted on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC).
“The party leader acted on behalf of the NEC, as per the constitution.”
“NEC could not meet because of the coronavirus pandemic.”
“When it meets, the decision (to make changes in Senate) will be ratified,”
“If they had 23 senators, then they should have gone to the PG and overrule everything.”
“Those 23 they are talking about, can they show you the signatures?”
“It’s illogical to have the numbers yet you can’t shoot down proposals you don’t like,” Murathe argued.
Murathe, who is currently President Uhuru Kenyatta’s fix-it man, further dismissed the notion that Deputy President William Ruto’s allies were not invited to the meeting saying the party leader invited all members through an SMS.
“They have been lying; they have been chest-thumping.”
“Everybody was invited; there is no single one of them who does not have SMS sent out by the party leader himself,” he said.
