Monday May 11, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto has indirectly spoken about the alleged plot by President Uhuru Kenyatta to remove Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen, and replacing him with KANU’s Samuel Poghisio.
Murkomen and Senate Majority Chief Whip, Susan Kihika, are expected to be removed from their senate seats for being loyal to William Ruto.
The two are loyal to DP and they have are campaigning for his presidential quest in 2022.
Today, Uhuru summoned all Jubilee and KANU Senators to State House, Nairobi, and they are expected to ratify the President‘s decision to remove Murkomen and Kihika.
Kihika’s position will be taken by Muranga Senator, Irungu Kangata.
However, in an interview with a journalist on Monday, Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary-General, Caleb Kositany, said the party will go to court if Uhuru tries to remove Murkomen and Kihika.
“We will move to court after today to stop any changes that will be made on the Senate leadership as the meeting today at the State House is an illegal meeting,” Kositany said.
Kositany, who is also Soy MP, is a close ally of Deputy President.
